Biographical Information
Born in 1981, Huang Jie studied at the Art Department of the famous Tsinghua University in Beijing from 2001 - 2005. She also studied German language at the Goethe Institute in Berlin in 2005.
In 2007, Huang Jie applied for the Chinese Art Prize 2007. Huang was selected by the important jury members - including the Director of Art Cologne (one of the world’s most important art expositions) and the Curator of the Asian Art Museum - as one of the top 25 emerging Chinese artists out of over 1,300 applications. The Chinese Art Prize helped to launch Huang Jie’s career.
Also in 2007, Huang Jie’s work was selected to be exhibited in a group show at the Zendai Museum Of Modern Art , Shanghai, one of the top art museums in the country’s financial capital.
In 2008, Huang Jie had her first important solo exhibition at Art Scene Classic in Shanghai’s famous 50 Moganshan (M50) Art District of the city. |
